The Aging Body –
A Capsule Of Time
The collection, titled The Aging Body – A Capsule Of Time is a capsule collection that explores the themes of aging, self-image, and memory.
The starting point for the collection was a series of X-ray photographs, not in a medical sense, but as artistic representations of both garments and the human body. These images revealed more than what is visible on the surface, offering a metaphorical glimpse beneath the exterior. They shifted the focus from the person to the body itself—a body whose story is told through shapes, movement, and textures rather than words. Individual signs of life experiences are manifested and carried within the body, some permanent and others temporary. The body becomes a biological capsule of time, reflecting everyday habits and lived experiences. These traces appear on the surface through skin, color, and texture, and internally through posture and movement.
All of these elements are individual manifestations of a life lived. They represent experiences that shape a person not only physically, but also mentally and emotionally.
The goal of the collection is to offer a new perspective on aging and bodily change—one that is not defined by negative stigma, but by self-respect, appreciation, and acceptance.
